Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 70 years old, of any gender
- People who have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) diagnostic standards
- People whose knee pain scores at least 4 out of 10 on a standard pain scale, and whose pain has lasted for at least 3 months
- People who have had their knee osteoarthritis confirmed by MRI or X-ray within the last 3 years
- People who are willing to take part and have signed a consent form agreeing to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had surgery on their knee in the past
- People who have received treatments for knee osteoarthritis in the past 3 months, such as steroid injections, acupuncture, or moxibustion
- People who have another condition that could cause knee pain, such as a bone fracture, a fluid-filled cyst in the knee joint, or rheumatoid arthritis
- People who have had a significant injury to the nervous system
- People who have a history of serious mental illness, major organ failure, or cancer
- People who are planning to have knee surgery within the next 3 months
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
