Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older (male or female)
- You are able to understand the study and agree to take part by signing a consent form
- You are able to follow the study rules and complete all required tests
- You fall into one of three groups: (1) you have normal vision with no eye problems, (2) you have moderate vision loss due to Stargardt disease or geographic atrophy, or (3) you have severe vision loss due to advanced Stargardt disease or geographic atrophy
- For groups 2 and 3: you have been formally diagnosed with Stargardt disease (an inherited eye condition) or geographic atrophy (a form of advanced age-related macular degeneration)
- If you have previously received anti-VEGF eye injections (a common treatment for eye conditions), your vision must have been stable for at least 3 months before joining, and there must be no fluid in your eye as shown on a scan
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial, or you have received an experimental drug or treatment in the last 6 months
- You have an eye condition other than Stargardt disease or geographic atrophy (such as a cloudy cornea, a significant cataract, or vision loss from glaucoma) that affects your vision
- You have received an injection into your eye within the two weeks before the study starts
- You have a neurological (brain or nervous system) condition that affects your vision
- You are unwilling or unable to complete the required vision tests used in this study (confirm with trial site)
- You have a retinal implant or prosthesis (such as the Argus II device)
