Who might be able to join this trial:
- The child must be between 6 and under 12 years old at the time of joining the study
- The child must have been diagnosed with a long-term skin condition called atopic dermatitis (eczema) for at least 1 year before the screening visit
- The child's eczema must be confirmed as moderate-to-severe at the start of the study, based on specific measurements of how much skin is affected, how severe it looks, and how itchy it is
- The child must have tried topical (applied to the skin) treatments for eczema for at least 4 weeks without getting enough relief, within the last 6 months
- The child must weigh at least 15 kg (about 33 pounds)
Who may not be able to join:
- Children with any serious medical or psychiatric condition, including any thoughts of suicide in the past year or suicidal behavior in the past 5 years, that could make participation unsafe
- Children with a high score on a behavioral/emotional questionnaire (called the SDQ) may need extra assessment by a mental health professional before being allowed to join
- Children who have had a skin infection requiring antibiotic tablets or injections within the past month, or a skin surface infection within the past week before starting the study
- Children with a history of a widespread (whole-body) herpes infection, or repeated herpes outbreaks in the same area of the body
- Children who have HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C
- Children with active tuberculosis (TB) or TB that has not been properly treated
- Children with other skin conditions such as psoriasis or lupus that could interfere with assessing their eczema
- Children with a history of a bone growth disorder (skeletal dysplasia)
- Children with a history of a detached retina (a problem with the back of the eye)
- Children with a history of blood clotting problems or low platelet counts
- Children with a history of any type of cancer, including leukemia or lymphoma
- Children with a weakened immune system, or who have a close family member with an inherited immune system disorder
- Children who have previously been treated with a specific type of medicine called a systemic JAK inhibitor for their eczema
- Children who have received a live vaccine within 6 weeks before starting the study, or who will need one during or shortly after treatment
- Children currently taking certain medications that interact with specific liver enzymes (confirm with trial site)
- Children who have taken part in another clinical drug trial within the past 30 days (or longer, depending on the previous drug used)

Response based on achieving Validated Investigator's Global Assessment (vIGA) score of clear (0) or almost clear (1) (on a 5-point scale) and a reduction from baseline of ≥2 points at Week 12; Response based on achieving ≥75% improvement from baseline in the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI)-75 at Week 12
