Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 19 and 79 years old.
- Your liver function has been rated as "Child-Pugh Class A," meaning your liver is still functioning reasonably well (confirm with trial site).
- You have been diagnosed with advanced liver cancer (Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C) and have not yet received any systemic (whole-body) cancer treatment for it.
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities, with little to no limitation from your illness (ECOG performance score of 0–1; confirm with trial site).
- Your blood test results meet certain minimum levels, including red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and blood clotting ability (confirm specific numbers with trial site).
- You have had a camera examination of your upper digestive tract (endoscopy) within the past six months before starting treatment.
- You are not breastfeeding, and if you or your partner could become pregnant, you are using contraception or have no plans for pregnancy.
- You have been fully informed about the trial and have agreed in writing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have already received systemic (whole-body) cancer treatment for advanced liver cancer.
- More than half of your liver is affected by the tumor.
- You have a tumor blocking the main blood vessel leading to your liver (main portal vein or both main branches) (confirm with trial site).
- You have previously had a liver transplant.
- You currently have another cancer that is not controlled, unless you have been cancer-free from it for more than two years.
- You have other serious health conditions that are not well controlled and require treatment.
- You have had bleeding from swollen veins in your food pipe (esophagus) or stomach in the past.
- You have previously had a procedure to treat swollen veins in your digestive tract, such as certain endoscopic treatments, a liver shunt procedure, or surgery for this purpose (confirm with trial site).
- You have taken blood-thinning or anti-clotting medications within the week before joining the study.
- Your baseline endoscopy showed significant swollen veins in your stomach or certain warning signs of bleeding risk (confirm with trial site).
- You are currently pregnant.
- You are unable to understand the trial information or sign a consent form.
- The trial doctor has decided, for any other reason, that the trial is not appropriate for you.
