Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 8 years or older
• People who have weakness or movement difficulties in their lower limbs caused by conditions such as cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injury, spina bifida, or nerve injury
• People whose situation requires a custom-made ankle-foot brace (AFO) — either a hinged, rigid, or spring-like energy-returning type — to help with walking, on one or both legs
• People who are able to walk on their own, even if they use a walking aid such as a cane or walker
• People who are able to fill out questionnaires with only basic guidance or directions
• People whose ankle-foot brace would be funded through the Assistive Devices Program (ADP)

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose main reason for needing an ankle-foot brace is to help heal or manage a wound
• People who would not be wearing their ankle-foot brace for the purpose of walking
• People who have reduced or no feeling in their feet, or who have a history of foot ulcers
• People who have never used an ankle-foot brace before
