- People who have had a stroke (either a blockage or a bleed in the brain) or a mini-stroke (TIA) within the last 15 days, confirmed by a brain scan, where the mini-stroke meets a certain risk score threshold (confirm with trial site)
- People who are returning to the stroke unit for their regular follow-up appointments after their stroke

- People with severe vision problems that would interfere with completing the study assessments
- People with severely poor physical or mental health that a neurologist believes would affect their ability to take part
- People who are already receiving treatment to help them stop smoking at the time they are admitted to the stroke unit
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are unable to read French
- People who are under legal guardianship or who are not able to give their own personal consent
- People already taking part in another study that changes how their follow-up care is managed
- People who are currently deprived of their liberty
- People who are in an emergency situation at the time of enrolment
