Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are between 50 and 85 years of age
- People who have had a single stroke more than 6 months ago but less than 15 years ago
- People who have at least a small amount of active movement in their ankle (specifically, being able to lift the foot upward at least 5 degrees while working against gravity)
- People who are able to walk 10 metres on their own, with or without a walking aid such as a cane
- People who score 6 or higher out of 10 on a short memory and thinking test
- People who have no known skin reactions (such as redness or itching) to electrical stimulation pads or electrodes
- People who are able to follow instructions and provide formal written consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other medical, heart-related, or bone and joint conditions that could interfere with treatment or assessments

- People who have language difficulties or problems with thinking and understanding that could interfere with following instructions
- People who have had one or more epileptic seizures within the past year
- People who have a metal clip inside their brain
- People who have a significant loss of sensation or feeling in their body
- People who have any medical reason that would prevent them from receiving a type of mild electrical brain stimulation called tDCS (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently taking part in another drug study or clinical trial
