Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have a traumatic spinal cord injury that is either fully affecting both movement and sensation, or affecting only movement but not sensation
• Your spinal cord injury is located in a specific region of your neck or mid-back (between levels C-4 and T-10) (confirm with trial site)
• If your injury is recent (subacute), it happened between 21 and 42 days before receiving the study treatment
• If your injury is longer-standing (chronic), it happened between 1 and 5 years ago, with no signs of improvement for at least 30 days
• You still have some muscle strength (at least a little movement) in at least one muscle in an arm or hand
• You are between 18 and 65 years old at the time you give consent to join
• You have a single injury site, and doctors can clearly see the injury area on scans to monitor your safety after treatment
• You are able to undergo an elective (planned, non-emergency) surgical procedure at least 21 days after your injury
• You are willing and able to sign the official consent form for this study
• If you could become pregnant or could cause a pregnancy, you agree to use contraception for one year after receiving the study treatment

Who may not be able to join:

• Your spinal cord injury was caused by a penetrating injury, such as a gunshot or stab wound
• Scans or prior surgery show a complete physical severing, tearing, or inadequate surgical relief of pressure on the spinal cord
• You have other injuries that would interfere with nerve and muscle testing, such as multiple spinal cord injuries, nerve injuries in the arms or legs, or a traumatic brain injury
• Scans show a cavity or fluid-filled space in the injury area with an irregular structure that would make the injection procedure unlikely to succeed
• You have a condition called syringomyelia, meaning progressively growing fluid-filled cysts in the spinal cord linked to worsening symptoms
• You are unable to communicate well enough with the medical team for reliable neurological testing
• You have organ damage or a serious illness that would make surgery or immune-suppressing medication too risky
• You currently require a breathing machine or similar breathing support device (not including simple supplemental oxygen)
• You have a history of cancer, except certain skin cancers — although if your cancer has been in full remission for more than five years, you may still be considered with special approval (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have a spinal cord stimulator device implanted, whether temporary or permanent
