For people with asthma:
- You must be at least 18 years old (any gender)
- You must have been formally diagnosed with bronchial asthma according to recognised international guidelines (GINA 2023)
- You must have been experiencing breathing-related symptoms for at least 6 weeks
- You must be a non-smoker, or must have stopped smoking more than 5 years ago
For healthy volunteers:

For people with asthma:
- You have used additional asthma medicines (such as steroids) on top of quick-relief inhalers in the past 4 weeks
- You have had a respiratory infection (such as a chest or airway infection) in the past 4 weeks
- You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or menstruating
- You are already taking part in another clinical trial
- You have another medical or mental health condition that the trial doctor believes makes participation unsuitable
For healthy volunteers:
- You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or menstruating
- You have been taking any long-term medication
- You are already taking part in another clinical trial
- You have any medical or mental health condition that the trial doctor believes makes participation unsuitable
