Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People whose fluid on the lungs is caused by a heart condition, another lung condition, a chest condition, or another illness in the body
  • People who also have high altitude cerebral edema (swelling of the brain caused by altitude)
  • People with a history of lung cancer, surgical removal of part or all of a lung, or a lung transplant
  • People with certain types of air trapped abnormally in the chest, such as a collapsed lung, air under the skin or around the heart, or a chest drainage tube already in place
  • People with a significantly low platelet count (below 50×10⁹/L), which affects the blood's ability to clot
  • People who have taken certain medications for high blood pressure in the lungs — such as sildenafil, bosentan, or prostacyclins — within the past 30 days
  • People who are unwilling to follow the study procedures or provide consent to participate
  • People whom the treating doctor considers unsuitable for the trial for any other reason
