Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 40 and 80 years old
• You have knee pain in one or both knees that has been diagnosed as osteoarthritis
• Your knee X-rays (taken while standing) show a moderate to severe level of osteoarthritis (Grade 2–4 on a standard medical scale)
• You have had knee pain for more than 6 months, it has not improved enough with other treatments (such as physical therapy, pain medications, bracing, or injections), and your pain scores at least a 4 out of 10
• You prefer not to have a steroid injection into your knee joint

Who may not be able to join:

• You currently have cancer
• You currently have an active infection in the knee being treated
• You have had a steroid injection in the affected knee within the last 3 months
• You have rheumatoid arthritis or a similar inflammatory joint condition
• You have had previous surgery on the affected knee (such as ligament repair, knee replacement, or cartilage procedures), except for a simple diagnostic procedure
• Your knee X-rays show very mild or no osteoarthritis (Grade 0–1)
• You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
• Your kidneys are not functioning well enough (confirm with trial site)
• You have had a severe allergic reaction to iodine-based dye used in medical imaging
• You have moderate to severe pain (above 4 out of 10) in your hip or ankle on the same side as the knee being treated
• You weigh more than 400 lbs, as this may make the procedure unsafe
• You have significant circulation problems in the leg being treated
• You have Type 1 diabetes
• You have used long-acting steroid medications within the last 6 months, or short-acting steroids within the last 3 months
• You have a history of acute kidney injury
• You have a history of reactions to imaging dye, asthma, or allergic conditions
• You have had a severe allergic reaction to a specific type of MRI contrast dye (gadolinium-based)
• You have widespread, ongoing pain scoring above 4 out of 10, including nerve-related pain
• You have been diagnosed with major depression within the last 2 years
• You have another serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
• You have had a suicide attempt or suicidal behaviour within the last 30 days
• You have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia
• You are planning to have a total knee replacement within the next year
• You have any other condition or circumstance that the trial team believes could affect your safety or ability to follow the trial procedures (confirm with trial site)
