Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are willing to take part and able to give your own consent to join the study, and are between 18 and 65 years old
- You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder, or major depression with a history of psychosis, based on a clinical interview and medical records

Who may not be able to join:
- You have received cognitive-behavioral therapy (a type of talking therapy) in the past 2 years

- You have had a problem with alcohol or drug dependence in the past 3 months, based on a clinical interview
- Your current level of care makes it difficult to attend outpatient therapy — for example, if you are currently in hospital or have a serious physical illness
- You are unable to see a phone screen clearly or physically use a phone
- You currently live in a housing facility that also provides mental health or medical treatment services
