Who might be able to join this trial:

Main study group (people with anorexia nervosa):

• You are male or female, between 6 and 65 years old
• You have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa according to recognised medical guidelines (DSM-5)
• You have been assessed as malnourished according to French health authority guidelines (HAS 2019)
• You have been given information about the study and agreed to take part by signing a consent form
• You are covered by French social security (health insurance)

Comparison group – younger patients (under 18, without anorexia):

• You are male or female and strictly under 18 years old
• You are scheduled to have a non-emergency, non-inflammatory surgery (such as orthopaedic or ear, nose and throat surgery)
• You have been informed about the study and signed a consent form
• You are covered by French social security

Comparison group – adults with a specific liver condition (without anorexia):

• You are male or female, between 18 and 65 years old
• Your blood tests show raised liver enzymes (ALT) at least twice the normal level, indicating liver cell damage
• You have been informed about the study and signed a consent form
• You are covered by French social security

Who may not be able to join:

• You are currently taking part in another clinical research study that restricts you from joining additional studies
• You or your parents or legal guardians object to taking part
• You have a psychiatric condition that prevents you from being able to give informed consent to join the study
• You are not able to understand French
• You fall into certain protected groups under French law — including pregnant or breastfeeding women, people in custody, or adults under legal guardianship (confirm with trial site)
