Who may not be able to join:

  • Your memory or thinking problems are caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease
  • You have had a mini-stroke, stroke, brain bleed, or seizure in the past 12 months
  • You have significant signs of depression, any suicidal behaviour in the past 6 months, or symptoms such as hallucinations, severe anxiety, or paranoia
  • You have a bleeding disorder, are taking blood-thinning medication, or have serious diseases affecting the gut, kidneys, liver, lungs, immune system, hormones, or heart
  • You have had an allergic reaction to the study drug (ranucimab) or any similar antibody-based treatment
  • You cannot have an MRI scan, for example because you have a pacemaker or certain metal implants in your body
  • You have had problems with drug or alcohol misuse within the past 2 years
  • You have taken part in another Alzheimer's clinical trial using a similar type of drug within the past 6 months (unless you can confirm you received only a placebo)
  • You are planning to have surgery under general anaesthesia during the trial
  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a positive pregnancy test at the start of the trial (for female participants)
