Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), either as a possible, probable, or confirmed case, based on recognised international diagnostic guidelines
- Your ALS symptoms have been progressing at a certain rate since they first began — this is calculated using your score on a standard ALS function questionnaire at your screening visit (confirm with trial site for exact calculation)

- You have either been taking a stable dose of the medication riluzole for at least 4 weeks, or you are not taking riluzole at all

Who may not be able to join:
- You have taken part in another clinical trial involving a treatment or intervention within the last 4 weeks
- You do not have enough social support around you, or the investigator feels you may not be able to complete the study for personal or practical reasons
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have a significant psychiatric condition or signs of notable memory or thinking difficulties (such as dementia)
