  • You have a serious physical illness or brain/nervous system condition — such as epilepsy, a brain tumour, a history of fluid on the brain, a metal implant in your skull, or a serious heart condition with a pacemaker
  • The skin where electrodes would be placed is broken or irritated, or you are sensitive to electrode gels or adhesive materials
  • You have an intellectual disability or significant memory and thinking difficulties, based on standardised tests
  • You have vision or hearing problems that would prevent you from completing the required assessments
  • You currently misuse or are dependent on alcohol or drugs
  • You are pregnant
  • You have taken part in, or are currently taking part in, another clinical trial within the past 3 months
  • You are unwilling or unable to sign the informed consent form
