Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with active Crohn's disease and a procedure called FMT (fecal microbiota transplant, where healthy donor stool is used as treatment) is possible for you
  • Your Crohn's disease has not responded well to steroids, you cannot tolerate or have not responded to standard immune-suppressing medications, and your disease is moderately to severely active — or you have stopped responding to or cannot tolerate more advanced treatments, with your last treatment taken at least a certain amount of time before joining the trial (confirm exact timing with trial site)
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old
  • Your Crohn's disease activity scores are above certain levels, measured by specific medical tests showing your disease is currently active (confirm exact score thresholds with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your Crohn's disease is currently in remission (well controlled with low disease activity)
  • You have a severe narrowing in your bowel that cannot be passed, making the FMT procedure not possible
  • You have tunnels or channels forming between organs (fistulas), or an infection or abscess in the anal area
  • Your Crohn's disease only affects a specific part of the upper digestive tract (confirm with trial site)
  • You currently have active tuberculosis (TB) or a serious widespread infection (sepsis)
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have certain serious ongoing health conditions affecting your heart, liver, or kidneys
  • You have previously had surgery for your Crohn's disease
  • You do not wish to give consent, or are unwilling to have FMT or follow dietary advice as part of the trial
  • You have a serious, worsening, or poorly controlled condition affecting your kidneys, liver, blood, gut, metabolism, hormones, lungs, heart, or nervous system
  • You have a current infection in your stool, such as parasites, certain bacteria, or a germ called Clostridioides difficile — though if treated successfully and re-tested with a clear result, you may still be considered (confirm with trial site)
  • You are living with HIV
