Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease and have not yet received any treatment for it, and the affected area can be examined using a camera inserted through the bowel (ileocolonoscopy).
- Your symptoms started less than 12 months ago.
- Your Crohn's disease is considered mild to moderate in severity, with signs of active inflammation visible during the bowel camera examination.
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your Crohn's disease is considered severe, or you need to be admitted to hospital for treatment.
- You have taken steroid tablets, or certain immune-suppressing medicines (such as azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine, or methotrexate) for more than 2 weeks.
- You have previously used biologic medicines or certain newer targeted medicines (called small molecules) for Crohn's disease.
- You have a narrowing in the bowel that a camera cannot pass through, an abnormal tunnel connecting body parts (fistula), or an abscess or fistula near the back passage.
- Your Crohn's disease affects a specific part of the upper digestive tract known as "L4 disease" (confirm with trial site).
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
- You have previously had surgery for Crohn's disease.
- You do not wish to give your consent to take part.
- You are not willing to receive a stool transplant (FMT) or dietary guidance as part of the trial.
- You have a serious, ongoing, or poorly controlled condition affecting the kidneys, liver, blood, gut, hormones, lungs, heart, or nervous system.
- Tests show you currently have an infection in your gut caused by bacteria, parasites, or a specific germ called Clostridioides difficile (note: if treated successfully and re-tested with a negative result, you may still be considered — confirm with trial site).
- You are living with HIV.
