  • Women of reproductive age who have been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) according to 2023 international guidelines and who also have obesity

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have diabetes, significantly reduced kidney function, chronic liver disease, or heart failure
  • People whose symptoms resemble PCOS but are caused by other hormonal or glandular conditions, such as untreated thyroid problems, high prolactin levels, Cushing's syndrome, or related disorders
  • People who have taken weight loss medications (such as orlistat or liraglutide) in the past three months
  • People who have previously had weight loss (bariatric) surgery

  • People for whom the study medication (semaglutide) would not be considered safe, including those with a personal or family history of a specific type of thyroid cancer (medullary thyroid carcinoma), a history of acute pancreatitis, or gallbladder disease
  • People who are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
