Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had their first-ever stroke (either a blockage-type or bleeding-type stroke)
- People whose stroke affected the left side of the brain (above the lower brain region), confirmed by a CT or MRI scan
- People who are in the recovery period within one month of their stroke
- People aged between 19 and 90 years
- People diagnosed with a specific type of language difficulty (non-fluent aphasia), assessed using a Korean language test called the Western Aphasia Battery
- People who are right-handed, as assessed by a standard handedness questionnaire
- People who have given written agreement to take part, either personally or through a legal representative
- People whose first language is Korean
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are allergic to the study medication, cerebrolysin, or who have other medical reasons they cannot receive it
- People who have had more than one previous stroke
- People who have a significant pre-existing condition affecting the brain or nervous system
- People who have a significant mental health condition, such as major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or dementia
- People who have had a problem with alcohol or other substance misuse within the three years before their stroke
- People with severe disease affecting the liver, kidneys, heart, or lungs
- People whose blood test results show certain liver or kidney markers above specified levels (confirm with trial site)
- People who have an existing medical condition where life expectancy is less than one year
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical treatment study
