Who might be able to join this trial:
- People of any sex aged over 18 years
- People who have weakness or movement difficulty on one side of the body (caused by brain damage on one side), confirmed by a brain CT or MRI scan
- People whose stroke or brain event occurred less than 6 months ago
- People with only mild-to-moderate muscle stiffness in the shoulder, elbow, and wrist on the affected side (a stiffness score below 3 on a standard medical scale called the Modified Ashworth Scale)
- People who are able to understand the study information and sign a consent form
- People who are physically able to carry out the activities involved in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People with unstable or serious general health conditions
- People who have weakness or movement difficulty affecting both sides of the body, or who have severe vision problems
- People who have recently received Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injections into the affected arm, or who have such an injection planned during the study period
- People who miss one full week of treatment or five sessions in a row during the study
- People who are unlikely to be able to stick to the exercise program required by the study
- People who have other neurological conditions in addition to their stroke, or who have psychiatric conditions or significant personality disorders
- People who have bone, joint, or muscle conditions that could affect movement in the affected arm
- People who have not signed the study consent form
