Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have had their first-ever ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel) with mild to moderate weakness or movement difficulties in one arm or hand
• People whose stroke affected a specific area of the brain supplied by the middle cerebral artery, either on the left or right side, and in either the outer or inner brain regions
• People aged between 18 and 80 years old
• People who do not have difficulties with spatial awareness, thinking and memory, or attention
• People who score below 56 on a standard arm movement assessment called the Fugl-Meyer scale (confirm with trial site for details on how this is measured)

Who may not be able to join:

• People with a history of seizures or epilepsy
• People currently taking certain medications, specifically Benzodiazepines (medicines often used for anxiety or sleep) or Baclofen (a muscle relaxant)
• People who are pregnant
• People who have any metal implants inside their skull or brain
• People who have a cardiac pacemaker (a device implanted to help regulate heartbeat)
• People who have a pre-existing physical limitation affecting the arm or shoulder due to a bone or joint condition
• People who have pain in their arm or hand
• People who have neurological conditions other than stroke, or who have psychiatric or psychological conditions that could affect their ability to give informed consent or participate fully in the study
