Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 45 years old
- People who are willing and able to give their informed consent to take part in the study
- People who have had ongoing lower back pain (not caused by a specific known condition) for more than 3 months, in the area below the bottom of the rib cage and above the buttocks
- People who experience enough pain or difficulty with daily activities due to their lower back pain to meet a minimum score on one of three standard pain or disability questionnaires (confirm with trial site for exact score thresholds)
- People who are physically able to exercise
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have pain that travels down into the leg, or who have sciatica or a nerve root problem in the spine
- People who have a specific diagnosed cause for their lower back pain, such as a herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, a spine joint problem, spinal narrowing, a spinal tumour, or a similar condition
- People with a history of osteoporosis, arthritis, scoliosis, or abnormal curvature of the spine
- People who currently have a spinal infection, cancer, or a broken bone anywhere in the body
- People who have had surgery on their spine or back in the past
- People who are unable to take part in physical activity or exercise
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People with a history of substance abuse
- People with a history of a psychiatric condition (such as depression, dementia, or schizophrenia) for which they are currently taking medication
- People with a current or past neurological condition, such as epilepsy
- People who do not have access to a phone or computer with working internet
- People who are not able to understand and communicate in English
- People who have taken part in another research study in the last 3 months that involved invasive procedures or payment for inconvenience
