Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are reasonably physically active and able to carry out daily activities (your doctor rates your overall health as good to moderate on a standard scale).
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic), where the cancer is hormone receptor-positive and HER2-negative, confirmed by a tissue sample.
- Your cancer has spread to many areas of the body, OR if your cancer has only spread to a few areas, it is not possible to treat all of those areas with targeted local therapy.
- You have been receiving hormone therapy and/or a type of targeted drug called a CDK4/6 inhibitor as your first or second main treatment, for at least 6 months before your cancer started growing again.
- Your cancer is currently growing or getting worse in only 1 to 3 specific spots outside the brain.
- All of the spots where cancer is progressing can be treated with a focused local treatment, according to your radiation specialist.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have another type of cancer that has not fully gone away or is not in complete remission.
- You have already received a local treatment for these newly progressing spots during your current course of systemic (whole-body) treatment.
- One of the spots where your cancer is currently progressing was previously treated with a precise form of radiation therapy (SBRT), and it cannot be treated with surgery or another targeted procedure called radiofrequency ablation.
- You have brain metastases (cancer spread to the brain) that are new or getting worse. (Note: stable brain metastases that have not changed for at least 6 months do not disqualify you.)
- You are unable to continue your current systemic (whole-body) treatment after receiving local therapy — for example, due to side effects or personal choice.
- You are pregnant.
- You are unable to read, understand, or sign the consent form for the trial.
