Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 21 and 79 years old (over 20 and under 80).
- People who are alert, aware, and able to communicate clearly.
- People who have knee osteoarthritis in one or both knees, with symptoms that have been present for more than 3 months.
- People whose knee X-rays show mild to moderate osteoarthritis (rated as grades 1 to 3 on a standard medical scale called Kellgren-Lawrence).
- People experiencing knee pain rated greater than 4 out of 10 on a standard pain scale.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose knee osteoarthritis is rated as severe (grade 4 on the Kellgren-Lawrence scale).
- People who currently have an infection affecting the whole body.
- People who have received injections of hyaluronic acid or steroids into a joint within the past 6 months, or who have taken anti-inflammatory medicines or steroid tablets within the past 7 days.
- People who have had a joint replacement or major surgery on the knee being treated.
- People with severe knee deformity or a very unstable knee joint.
- People with a known history of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, blood clotting disorders, low platelet counts, certain blood protein problems, active or long-term infectious diseases, chronic liver disease, or poorly controlled heart disease or diabetes.
- People currently taking blood-thinning (anticoagulant) medication.
- People who use aspirin or vitamin E regularly in large amounts.
- People with a known history of HIV/AIDS, syphilis, or other infectious diseases that are required by law to be reported to health authorities.
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or any person of childbearing potential who is unable to use effective contraception during the treatment period.
- People considered unsuitable for the trial by the lead doctor overseeing the study.
- People who are unable to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
