Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with psoriatic disease (a skin and/or joint condition related to psoriasis) for at least 6 months before signing the consent form
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You are of Chinese ethnicity
- You have moderate to severe psoriasis, based on a standard skin assessment score
- You are overweight (BMI 27 or above) with at least one related health condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol — OR you are obese (BMI 30 or above)
- You are currently on a stable dose of your usual psoriasis treatment
- You are able and willing to follow the study requirements
- If you are a woman who is sexually active and not yet through menopause, you agree to either abstain from sex or use 2 effective forms of contraception
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unwilling to give your consent to participate
- You have a medical reason why you cannot take a type of medication called a GLP-1 receptor agonist (confirm with trial site)
- You have a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
- You have a personal or family history of a certain type of thyroid cancer (MTC) or a condition called MEN (confirm with trial site)
- You have a known allergy to semaglutide or any of its ingredients
- You have Type 1 diabetes
- You have gallbladder disease
- You currently have cancer, or have had cancer within the past 5 years
- You have an active infection that has required antibiotic, antiviral, or antifungal treatment within the past 4 weeks
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding — you should let your healthcare provider know if you think you may be pregnant
- You have previously had an allergic reaction to the study medication
- You have a serious psychiatric (mental health) illness
- You have received a live or weakened vaccine in the last 28 days before joining the study
- You have had issues with alcohol or substance misuse in the past 6 months
- You have a history of suicide attempts or are currently having thoughts of suicide
