Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older, of any gender
- People who have been diagnosed with a high-grade (grade III) soft tissue sarcoma (a type of cancer affecting soft tissues such as muscle or fat) located in the arms or legs, confirmed by laboratory testing of a tissue sample
- People who have already received radiotherapy before surgery (either a short or long course of treatment)
- People whose doctors have recommended wide radical excision surgery (an operation to remove the tumour along with a surrounding margin of healthy tissue)
- People whose CT scan shows no signs of the cancer having spread to other parts of the body
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People diagnosed with a non-cancerous (benign) tumour
- People whose sarcoma is located in the abdomen (retroperitoneal area) or the trunk of the body
- People whose planned surgery involves removing an entire limb at the hip or shoulder joint
- People for whom complete surgical removal of the tumour is not expected to be possible
- People whose surgery would require removal or repair of a major blood vessel
- People who have received or are planned to receive other local treatments to the affected area, such as isolated limb perfusion or electrochemotherapy
