Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 to 85 years, of any gender
  • People who have had an acute stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel on the front part of the brain (specifically the internal carotid artery or certain segments of the middle cerebral artery), confirmed by specialised imaging
  • People who had a clot-removal procedure (mechanical thrombectomy) performed within 24 hours of their stroke symptoms starting
  • People for whom the clot-removal procedure was successful, based on a standard medical score measuring blood flow restoration (eTICI score of 2b or higher)
  • People who still have a moderate level of stroke-related disability 24 hours after the clot-removal procedure, including notable weakness in at least one arm or leg, as measured by a standard stroke severity scale (NIHSS score of 5–25)

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who had some level of disability before their stroke, as measured by a standard disability scale (modified Rankin Scale score of 2 or higher before the stroke)
  • People who develop a serious type of bleeding in the brain after the clot-removal procedure (called PH2-type intracranial hemorrhage), detected on a brain scan
  • People who had a stent placed inside a brain blood vessel during their clot-removal procedure
  • People with a history of epilepsy or seizures, or who have implanted devices such as a cardiac pacemaker, cochlear implant, or any other electronic or magnetically sensitive device, as these are safety concerns for the brain stimulation treatment used in this trial
  • People with severe difficulties in consciousness, thinking, or mental health that would prevent them from cooperating with the brain stimulation treatment
  • People whose life expectancy is less than 3 months due to other health conditions, or who are unable to attend follow-up visits for any reason
  • People who are currently participating in another interventional clinical trial
  • People considered unsuitable for the trial by the treating research doctor, for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
