Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are a male or female aged 18 or older who is looking for treatment for scarring hair loss
  • You are able to read, understand, and sign a consent form agreeing to take part
  • You have been diagnosed with scarring hair loss either through a skin biopsy or by a dermatologist's examination within the last 6 months
  • Your hair loss has been stable and not changing for at least the last 3 months
  • You agree not to change your current hair care routine or start any new hair loss treatments (such as minoxidil) during the study
  • You are willing and able to attend all required appointments and follow the study schedule
  • You agree not to have any other treatments done to the areas being studied during the trial

Who may not be able to join:

  • You do not have scarring hair loss
  • You are not able to give your own informed consent to participate
  • You have had steroid injections into your scalp within the last 12 months
  • You are pregnant
  • You have a medical condition that may make your skin more sensitive to light (confirm with trial site)
  • You have had a hospital stay, surgery in the treatment area in the past 12 months, or any major surgery in the last 6 months
  • You have an allergy to lidocaine or have had a reaction to it before
  • You have a history of a weakened immune system, including HIV or AIDS, or have had chemotherapy in the last 12 months
  • You have had a recent COVID-19 infection
  • You have taken immune-suppressing medications in the last 6 months or are currently taking them
  • You have taken Accutane or similar vitamin A-based medications in the last 12 months
  • You have smoked or vaped in the last 12 months
  • You have uncontrolled high cholesterol, uncontrolled diabetes, uncontrolled hepatitis, or uncontrolled bleeding disorders
  • You have a history of major depression or uncontrolled thyroid conditions (such as an underactive or overactive thyroid or Hashimoto's thyroiditis)
