Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are older than 18 years of age
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain minimum level (confirm with trial site)
- People who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer confirmed by a tissue biopsy
- People whose prostate cancer is classified as "high-risk" based on national guidelines, meaning at least one of the following applies: the cancer has grown beyond the prostate gland, the cancer cells look very abnormal under a microscope (high grade), or the PSA blood test result is above 20 ng/mL
- People whose staging scans (a specialised PET scan) show no cancer spread to the pelvic lymph nodes or other parts of the body
- People with a urinary symptom score of 15 or below (water tablet medication is permitted)
- People with a life expectancy of more than 5 years
- People whose prostate gland measures 100 cc or smaller in volume
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had radiation treatment directed at the prostate
- People who have previously had radiotherapy to the pelvic area
- People who currently have active Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's Disease (inflammatory bowel conditions)
- People who have had another cancer in the past, unless they have been free of that cancer for at least 5 years
