Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a condition called neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration (a type of eye disease affecting central vision).
- People aged 50 years or older.
- People whose eye specialist has determined they need treatment with a type of medication called an anti-VEGF drug, as part of standard medical care.
- People who have not previously received any treatment in the eye being studied for this condition.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently taking part in, or have taken part in, another clinical trial involving an experimental drug within the last 6 months.
- People who have other eye conditions — for example, advanced glaucoma or cataracts affecting vision — that are likely to require surgery during the study period in the eye being studied.
- People who have received another anti-VEGF medication in the other eye, or certain other medications (eye or general), within the 3 months before starting treatment.
- People considered to have a high cardiovascular risk, including poorly controlled high blood pressure, a history of stroke or heart attack, being on blood-thinning medication, certain kidney issues, or having had major planned surgery within the past 3 months.
- People with certain eye health risks related to injections into the eye, such as an active or suspected eye infection, severe eyelid inflammation, a history of serious eye infection, a history of retinal detachment, certain muscle conditions, or glaucoma.
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to the study medication or any of its ingredients.
- People with a documented diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy (an eye condition related to diabetes).
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
