Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 6 months or older.
- People who understand the purpose, methods, and possible risks of the study.

- [For the patient group only] People who have been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (eczema), have had ongoing symptoms for at least 3 months, currently have their condition well-controlled (skin is clear or almost clear), and have used topical corticosteroid creams or ointments for at least 3 months in the past 6 months.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have acne, a suntan, birthmarks, many moles, tattoos, blemishes, or thick body hair on the skin areas being measured, as these could block the test sites.
- People who have visible signs of eczema or skin inflammation at the general measurement areas (note: specific areas of interest may still be used — confirm with trial site).
- People with a health condition that the lead researcher believes would make participation unsuitable.
- [For the healthy volunteer group only] People with a history of long-term skin conditions, other than acne.
- People who have used any medication that could interfere with the trial's aims before the first visit.
- [For the healthy volunteer group only] People who have used topical corticosteroid products on any area in the 6 months before their clinic visit — unless it was a short course of hydrocortisone (4 weeks or less) used outside the areas being measured.
- People who have applied any product to the measurement areas within 24 hours before their visit (or within 6 hours for patients with more severe symptoms).
- People who are currently taking part in another interventional clinical trial.
- People who are not able to give fully informed consent.
- People whom the lead researcher has determined are not suitable for the study for any other reason.
