Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis (knee joint wear and tear) based on standard medical guidelines
• You have had knee pain for more than 3 months
• Your knee pain has not improved with standard treatments (such as physiotherapy or pain medication) for at least 3 months
• You are between 45 and 75 years old
• Your knee X-rays show a moderate level of joint damage (classified as stage 2 or 3 on a standard medical scale)

Who may not be able to join:

• Your knee joint damage is classified as very mild (stage 1) or very severe (stage 4) on X-ray
• You have serious conditions affecting other parts of your body, such as severe heart, kidney, or liver disease, uncontrolled diabetes, cancer, a weakened immune system, blood disorders, or bone diseases affecting the whole body
• You have a tendency to bleed easily, whether due to a medical condition or a blood-thinning medication (confirm with trial site)
• You currently have an infection anywhere in your body, or specifically in or near the knee
• Your knee osteoarthritis was caused by another condition, such as an inflammatory joint disease, a past injury, or a previous infection
• You have had a significant knee injury within the last year
• Your Body Mass Index (BMI — a measure of body weight relative to height) is over 40
• You have had a full knee or hip replacement surgery within the last year
• You are pregnant
• You have had an injection into a joint within the last 6 months
• Your blood test results show that your haemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells) or platelet levels (cells that help blood clot) are below certain levels (confirm with trial site)
• You are allergic to hyaluronic acid products (a substance sometimes injected into joints)
