Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 30 and 65 years old (inclusive)
- You have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, or a related condition where the body does not make enough insulin (such as a slow-onset form of type 1 diabetes in adults, or diabetes caused by pancreatitis)
- You currently exercise less than once per week on average
- You own a smartphone
- You can read and write in English
- You see a healthcare provider at least once a year
- You have access to home broadband internet or a mobile phone network
- You have been using a continuous glucose monitor (a device that tracks your blood sugar throughout the day) and your data has been shared with your medical records for at least 6 weeks
- You have been using an insulin pump or insulin pen and your data has been shared with your medical records for at least 6 weeks
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a serious diabetes-related emergency (called diabetic ketoacidosis) in the past 6 months that was not clearly caused by a pump site failure
- You have had more than one episode of severely low blood sugar requiring help from another person in the past 6 months
- Your average blood sugar control (measured by an A1c blood test) is 10.0% or higher
- Your resting blood pressure is too high (above 160/100 mmHg)
- You have had a heart attack or chest pain (angina) in the past 12 months
- You have an uncontrolled irregular heart rhythm (confirm with trial site)
- You have advanced heart failure (stage 3 or 4)
- You have exercise-induced asthma that is not controlled with inhalers
- You have a serious lung condition that requires you to use oxygen at home
- You have kidney failure
- You are pregnant
- You have a condition that affects your thinking, memory, or understanding
- You have severe damage to your eyes or nerves related to diabetes
- You have another long-term illness or physical limitation that could affect your ability to exercise (for example, recent spinal surgery)
