Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have received their first-ever diagnosis of ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel), confirmed by a CT or MRI brain scan
- People who have been found to have aphasia (difficulty with speaking or understanding language), as measured by a specific test called the Aachener Aphasia Test, and/or thinking and memory difficulties identified through a test called the Oxford Cognitive Screen
- People who have a standard broadband (ADSL) or faster internet connection at their home
- People who, either on their own or with the help of a caregiver, are able to understand and use the remote rehabilitation technology used in the trial
- People who have given written consent to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial
- People who have a pre-existing condition causing significant cognitive decline or dementia (confirm with trial site)
- People who have bone deformities in their arms or legs resulting from a previous injury
- People who have severe fixed muscle stiffness or tightness in their arms or legs, scoring 4 out of 4 on a standard stiffness scale called the Modified Ashworth Scale
- People who have other neurological or orthopaedic conditions that could interfere with the trial
