Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a stroke that affected the left side of the brain.
- People whose consent is given at least 1 month after their stroke occurred.
- People who are fluent in English.
- People who are 18 years of age or older.
Who may not be able to join:
- People with severe difficulties with thinking, hearing, or vision that would make cognitive or language testing too difficult to complete.
- People with a major psychiatric condition (such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder) that is not being treated or is currently unstable.
- People with a long-term medical condition that is not being treated or is currently unstable.
- People who have a cardiac pacemaker, heart stimulator, neurostimulator, medication pump, cochlear implant, or any other implanted device near the scalp or in the eye, or metal fragments or clips anywhere in the body.
- People who are pregnant.
- People with a history of skull fractures or skin diseases.
- People with a history of seizures that are ongoing or not well managed.
- People with factors that may lower the threshold for having a seizure, including taking certain medications that can trigger seizures, untreated sleep problems, or ongoing alcohol or illicit drug use (such as cocaine or MDMA).
- People with a history of dyslexia or other developmental learning disabilities.
