Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who were between 18 and 75 years old (inclusive) when they were first diagnosed with their cancer
  • People who have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer (cancer of the food pipe) confirmed by a tissue biopsy, with complete medical records including a pathology report and formal cancer staging
  • People who have not had any other type of cancer at a different part of the body (except for certain skin cancers or very early-stage cancers that have been fully cured)

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose overall health is very poor, with a life expectancy of less than 6 months based on standard health assessments
  • People who do not have the legal capacity to make their own decisions and do not have a legal guardian who can act on their behalf
  • People with active serious mental health conditions such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or significant memory or thinking difficulties (confirmed with trial site)
  • People whom the trial investigators determine should be excluded for other medical reasons (confirm with trial site)
