Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 45 and 65 years old
- Both men and women are eligible
- People who have had knee pain lasting at least 3 months
- People whose knee pain during walking rates at least 2 out of 10 on a pain scale
- People who have difficulty with walking and balance, as measured by a standard movement test called the Timed Up & Go (TUG) test
- People who score poorly on the WOMAC scale, which measures knee pain, stiffness, and ability to do everyday physical activities
- People diagnosed with Grade II knee osteoarthritis, as determined by a method called the Kellgren-Lawrence grading system
- People who are willing and able to give their informed consent to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People under 45 or over 65 years of age
- People whose knee pain during walking rates 9 out of 10 or higher on a pain scale
- People diagnosed with Grade I, III, or IV knee osteoarthritis using the Kellgren-Lawrence grading system
- People with a physical or mental health condition that severely affects their daily life
- People for whom exercise therapy is not considered safe or appropriate (confirm with trial site)
- People who may have widespread long-term pain affecting multiple areas of the body, including both sides, above and below the waist, and the spine
- People who have already had a total knee replacement, or who are currently on a waiting list for one, in either knee
- People whose knee pain is caused by something other than osteoarthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis or gout
- People who have received injections into the knee joint (such as steroid or hyaluronic gel injections) within the past 6 months for knee pain
