Who might be able to join this trial:

• People whose stroke has been recorded in the Brest Stroke Registry (BSR)
• People who are able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
• People who have been followed up by medical staff for more than 4 years during the study period
• People whose stroke symptoms were mild, based on a standard medical scoring tool called the NIHSS (a score of 5 or less on arrival at hospital)
• People who were between 18 and 75 years old when their first stroke occurred
• People who had little to no disability before their stroke, based on a standard scale called the Rankin scale (a score below 1)
• People who are able to provide a saliva sample for genetic testing
• People who are able to have a brain MRI scan

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose neurological symptoms went away within one hour and whose brain scan came back normal
• People who are not enrolled in the French social security system
• People who are under legal protection or whose freedom has been restricted by a court or government decision
• People who are unable to sign a consent form
• People for whom ongoing medical follow-up would not be possible
