Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with prostate cancer (a specific type called adenocarcinoma) that has been confirmed by a tissue sample and appears to be contained to the local area
  • There is no sign that the cancer has spread to lymph nodes in the upper abdomen, bones, or other organs (some spread to lymph nodes in the lower abdomen may still be acceptable)
  • You have had the recommended scans and tests to determine your cancer's stage and risk level
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are willing and able to give written consent to participate and can follow the study requirements

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your prostate cancer is of a rare type called neuroendocrine or small cell carcinoma
  • There is clear evidence that your cancer has spread to distant parts of the body (spread to certain nearby lymph nodes in the lower abdomen may still be considered acceptable — confirm with trial site)
  • You have previously had whole-gland cryotherapy (freezing treatment), high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), or brachytherapy (internal radiation seeds) on your prostate
  • You have previously had radiation treatment to your pelvic area
  • You have a history of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or a condition called ataxia telangiectasia
  • You have another medical condition or health issue that the trial doctor believes could put you at risk or affect the reliability of the study results (confirm with trial site)
