Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People arriving at the emergency department with suspected stroke, based on a screening score that includes limb weakness as one of the symptoms
- People whose stroke symptoms started, or who were last seen well, within the past 3 hours
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are in a coma and not responding to touch or voice
- People with serious ongoing health conditions, such as cancer, severe lung disease, severe heart failure, or those who are unable to walk independently and need help with daily activities
- People who have a history of epilepsy, or whose symptoms began with a seizure
- People who have had a head injury within the past 7 days
- People whose blood sugar level is below 2.8 mmol/L at the time of assessment
