Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease), either confirmed by lab tests or based on current clinical diagnostic standards
- You are over 18 years old
- Your ALS symptoms first appeared no more than 24 months (2 years) ago
- Your condition has been getting worse over the past 3 months
- Your breathing ability is still at a certain minimum level, as measured by a standard ALS assessment tool (confirm with trial site)
- You are either taking riluzole or edaravone (common ALS medications) at a stable dose for at least 1 month before joining, or you are not taking any ALS-specific medication
- You have a caregiver who can help you and who has completed the required training on how to use the study device
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a fixed electrical device implanted in your body, such as a pacemaker, nerve stimulator, or hearing implant, that could be affected by electrical fields
- You have certain metal objects inside your skull (such as splinters, screws, nails, or some implants) that could interact with electrical fields
- You have a history of epilepsy or seizures
- You are currently pregnant, as the effects of the study treatment on an unborn baby are not yet known
