Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are male or female of any skin tone, and fall into one of these age groups: an infant aged 3 to 23 months, a child aged 2 to 12 years, or a teenager/adult aged 13 or older
- You have been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (eczema) using a specific set of recognised medical criteria
- The affected skin areas (patches of eczema and very dry skin) cover no more than 30% of your body surface
- Your atopic dermatitis is considered mild to moderate in severity
- You have been using a prescribed topical corticosteroid cream or ointment on your eczema patches for between 1 and 5 days before joining the trial, and are still using it at the time of joining
Who may not be able to join:
- Infants or young children (groups 1 & 2) whose eczema patches or very dry skin areas are located in the nappy/diaper area
- Anyone with a known allergy or intolerance to any ingredient in the study products or materials used in the research
- Anyone who has another skin condition, or has something on the studied skin areas (such as a tattoo) that could affect how results are measured
- Anyone with a skin condition, or any other ongoing, past, or progressive illness that could affect the study results or that the doctor considers unsafe or incompatible with the study
- Anyone known to have AIDS or an active or ongoing infectious disease (confirm with trial site)
- Anyone who has started, changed, or is planning to start a biological immunosuppressive treatment (a type of medication that affects the immune system, given by injection or infusion) within 12 weeks before joining, or during the study
- Anyone who has had light therapy (phototherapy) within 4 weeks before joining, or plans to have it during the study
- Anyone who has started, changed, or is currently taking, or plans to take a non-biological immunosuppressive medication within 4 weeks before joining or during the study
- Anyone who has started, changed, or is currently taking, or plans to take steroid tablets or other systemic steroid treatments within 4 weeks before joining or during the study
- Anyone who has started, changed, or is currently taking, or plans to take antibiotic tablets or medicines taken by mouth for a skin condition within 2 weeks before joining or during the study
- Anyone who has started or changed an antihistamine medication taken by mouth (such as for allergies) within 2 weeks before joining
- Anyone using certain creams or ointments on the studied skin areas (such as immune-modifying creams, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, antibiotic, or antiseptic topical products) within 1 week before joining, or ongoing or planned during the study
- Anyone using any other cream, ointment, or topical product on the studied skin areas that the doctor considers incompatible with the study, in the period before joining or planned during the study
- Anyone who has applied any skin care product (including a moisturiser) to their whole body on the evening before or the morning of their first visit
- Anyone who has washed their whole body or used any cleansing product within 4 hours before their first visit (a light face wash is allowed if the face is not one of the studied areas)
- Anyone who plans to change their usual moisturiser or skincare habits during the study (moisturisers are only allowed outside the studied skin areas)
If the participant is an infant or young child (groups 1 & 2) who is being breastfed, the following also apply to the mother:
- The mother has started or changed a biological immunosuppressive treatment within 12 weeks before the child joins, or plans to start one during the study
- The mother has started or changed a non-biological immunosuppressive treatment within 4 weeks before the child joins, or plans to start one during the study
- The mother has started or changed steroid tablets or medicines within 2 weeks before the child joins, or plans to start them during the study
- The mother has started or changed antihistamine medication within 2 weeks before the child joins
- The mother has started or changed antibiotic medication taken by mouth for a skin condition within 1 week before the child joins, or plans to start it during the study
