Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of slow-growing lymphoma (a cancer of the lymph system), either called follicular lymphoma or marginal zone lymphoma — several subtypes of each are accepted (confirm with trial site for your specific subtype)
- People whose lymphoma is at an early stage, meaning it is found in only one area of the body, or in more than one area but only on one side of the chest/abdomen divide
- People who are newly diagnosed or who have been monitored without receiving any treatment for their lymphoma so far
- People referred for a specific stomach-related lymphoma (gastric MALT lymphoma) must have had a negative test for a bacteria called H. pylori within the past 6 months before starting radiation
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who are able to begin radiation treatment within 2 months of being enrolled in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had radiation treatment to the same area of the body that now needs treatment
- People diagnosed with a more aggressive form of follicular lymphoma (grade 3B or a related type called follicular large B cell lymphoma)
- People who are planned to receive other cancer treatments at the same time, including steroid tablets, alongside the radiation
- People whose lymphoma affects only the skin (certain specific skin-based lymphoma types are excluded)
- People whose lymphoma was already completely surgically removed
- People whose largest tumour measures 5 centimetres or more in diameter on any scan or imaging
- People who have another medical or mental health condition that, in the treating doctor's judgement, would make participation in this trial unsuitable
