Who might be able to join this trial:
- People recruited through neurology memory clinics or from the general community
- People aged between 60 and 80 years old (inclusive), of any gender
- People who are right-handed
- People whose cognitive (thinking and memory) test results are within the normal range for their age, gender, and education level, OR people who have very mild memory or thinking changes that do not yet fully meet the medical definition of Mild Cognitive Impairment, OR people who only notice thinking or memory changes themselves without it showing up on tests
- People who have been identified as being in the early, pre-symptom stage of Alzheimer's disease — meaning thinking and memory are still normal, but a specific blood test (plasma p-tau217) or a brain scan (Aβ PET) shows early Alzheimer's-related changes (confirm with trial site)
- People who fully understand the study, are willing to take part voluntarily, and have signed a written consent form approved by the Ethics Committee
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had, or currently have, a neurological condition such as stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, or multiple sclerosis
- People who have a psychiatric condition such as severe depression or severe anxiety
- People who have a serious medical condition affecting the whole body that may be causing thinking or memory problems, such as severe thyroid problems, severe liver or kidney disease, or severe nutritional deficiencies
- People who are currently taking medications known to affect thinking or memory — such as certain bladder medications (anticholinergics), sedatives (benzodiazepines), or antipsychotics — where these medications cannot be stopped or adjusted
- People whose thinking or memory difficulties are caused by something other than Alzheimer's disease
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan, for example due to claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces), having an implanted medical device such as a pacemaker, cochlear implant, or aneurysm clip, or having metal fragments in the head from a past injury
