Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are between 18 and 75 years old
- People who are generally healthy with no known illnesses
- People who are able to follow fasting requirements before the procedure
- People who are able to follow bowel preparation instructions (such as taking a bowel-clearing preparation beforehand)
- People who are able to give their informed consent to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are older than 75 years of age
- People who have trouble swallowing or any swallowing disorder
- People who have conditions that could increase the risk of a small camera capsule becoming stuck inside the body, such as narrowings in the gut, intestinal tumours, bowel blockages, incomplete colonoscopies, or abnormal connections between organs (confirm with trial site)
- People who have been diagnosed with a condition where the stomach or intestines do not move food through properly (such as gastroparesis or bowel dysmotility)
- People with a history of inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease affecting the intestines, long-term constipation, or bleeding from the back passage
- People with known kidney disease or abnormal kidney function test results in the past 6 months
- People who regularly use anti-inflammatory pain medications such as ibuprofen or naproxen (NSAIDs)
- People who have a known reason they cannot take the medication metoclopramide
- People who have a known reason they cannot take polyethylene glycol (a bowel preparation solution)
- People currently suspected of having or diagnosed with blood in the stool, black tarry stools, or iron deficiency with or without anaemia
- People who have had surgery on their intestines in the past
- People with a history of heart failure
- People who have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes
- People who have a cardiac pacemaker or any other implanted electronic medical device
- People who are expected to have an MRI scan within 7 days of swallowing the capsule
- People who have taken part in another clinical research study involving a drug or medical device within the past 30 days, where that study may affect their safety or ability to participate
- People who have delayed stomach emptying
- People who are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are currently breastfeeding
