Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 80 years of age
- People who have been diagnosed with kidney failure (also called end-stage renal disease)
- People who have been receiving regular dialysis treatments for more than three months
- People who are willing and able to agree to take part and follow the study's requirements
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a significant narrowing (more than 70%) of the main arteries in the neck, confirmed by a scan or imaging test
- People whose blood pressure or circulation is unstable, or who need medication to keep their blood pressure at a safe level
- People who have significant problems with their heart rhythm, such as atrial fibrillation or a fast, irregular heartbeat originating in the lower chambers of the heart
- People whose dialysis sessions have been stopped for reasons other than low blood pressure, such as equipment problems or personal choice
- People who are taking blood pressure-lowering medications during their dialysis sessions
- People for whom an ultrasound scan cannot be performed, for example due to severe obesity or wounds in the way of the scanning area
- People who decide to withdraw their agreement to participate after the study has begun
