Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are able to understand the study requirements and are willing to sign a consent form before taking part
  • You are between 40 and 85 years old
  • You are a current or former smoker with at least 10 "pack-years" of smoking history (for example, smoking one pack a day for 10 years, or equivalent) (confirm with trial site)
  • You have been formally diagnosed with COPD for at least 12 months before joining the study

  • If you are able to have children, you and your partner must use reliable contraception throughout the study and for at least 3 months after the last dose, and you must not plan to become pregnant or donate eggs or sperm during this time

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a significant lung condition other than COPD
  • You have been diagnosed with asthma, or have a history of asthma
  • You have a condition called alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
  • You have an active autoimmune disease (where the immune system attacks the body)
  • You have had any cancer in the past 5 years
  • You have another serious medical condition that is not well controlled
  • You have an active parasitic infection, or are considered at high risk of one
  • You have active Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, or HIV
  • You have a known allergy or intolerance to any biological medicine
  • The study doctor decides there is any other reason you should not participate
