Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been referred to the MoCA Clinic, either as a new patient or as an existing patient who has not been seen there for more than one year.
- People who are experiencing memory or thinking difficulties, or who have concerns about their memory or thinking.
- People who are able to understand the purpose and risks of the study and are willing to give their formal consent to participate.
- People who have someone in their life — such as a family member, friend, or carer — who has regular and close enough contact with them to accurately describe their thinking and daily functioning, is reachable by phone, is available for the length of the study, and is willing to attend at least one in-person visit at the MoCA Clinic.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already been diagnosed with a condition other than Alzheimer's disease that explains their memory or thinking difficulties — for example, substance misuse, stroke-related conditions, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia, or a recent head injury.
- People who have donated blood (one unit) within one month before the study screening appointment.
- People who are unable to complete the essential parts of the study — for example, due to significant vision problems, severe kidney disease, or ongoing kidney treatment (confirm with trial site).
- People who are already taking part in another clinical trial for Alzheimer's disease at the time of screening.
- People who the lead researcher or the MoCA Clinic considers unsuitable for the study for any other reason.
