Who might be able to join this trial:

• A tissue sample taken during an endoscopy must have confirmed a specific type of oesophageal cancer called squamous cell carcinoma.
• The cancer must be located in the part of the oesophagus that runs through the chest area.

• People with a history of autoimmune disease, or who are currently using or regularly need corticosteroids or immune-suppressing medications.
• People who have previously received immunotherapy, have a known allergy to the study drugs, or who test positive for HIV, active hepatitis B, or hepatitis C.
• People with active lung conditions such as interstitial lung disease or bronchiectasis, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or certain heart conditions such as active reduced blood flow to the heart or irregular heart rhythms requiring treatment.
• People who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or who are unwilling to use contraception throughout the study period.
• People who are unable or unwilling to follow the study requirements, have a psychiatric condition that affects their ability to give informed consent, or are currently taking part in another clinical trial.
• People who have had an organ transplant (though autologous bone marrow or stem cell transplants are not excluded — confirm with trial site).
